Did you ever wonder why we have to have a "leap year" every four years? It is true that time is the measurement of movement according to before and after.
The "before" and the "after" cannot be independent of the unit of measurement. The measurement must be determined by an agreed rule. In other words, there must be something which the preposition The `before' affects, or, modifies. The same is true of the preposition `after' _ there must be something that it affects.
God has created all things in just measure. God is the mathematician par excellence! And, all that God has made was made good. There is neither imperfection in God's works nor uncleanness. All things are pure to the pure. And, conversely, all things are evil for those who are evil.
Since the willful act of disobedience of Lucifer (whom the Mormons absurdly call the "brother of Jesus"!) and man's subsequent disobedience, all nature was cast into spiritual and physical disorder.
Although blind pride deludes many into thinking they are "atheist," they really are not atheists. Those who boldly proclaim themselves to be so are fiercely trying to hide the truth about themselves: They have made themselves gods, and will not have a true God before them.
For this reason, it is imperative for the viability of their disastrous dreams to vilify and nullify by any means the objective reality of God's creation. Nothing is sacred to such arrogant individuals except their own self-worship. Thus, anything that even suggests a power superior to their own must be either disproved with fallacious argumentation, or, failing this, to reduce to ridicule that which unmasks them.
One such attempt has been to ridicule and call into question the miraculous events in the Holy Scriptures. In particular, the fact that Josue, doing battle against the Amorrites, won the battle because God made the sun to stand still. The fact is recorded as follows: "On this day, when the Lord delivered up the Amorrites to the Israelites, Josue prayed to the Lord, and said in the presence of Israel: Stand still, O sun, at Gabaon, O moon, in the valley of Aialon! And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, while the nation took vengeance on its foes." (Josue 10, 12-13).
The Scriptures further record: "Is this not recorded in the Book of Jashar? The sun halted in the middle of the sky; not for a whole day did it resume its swift course. Never before or since was there a day like this, when the Lord obeyed the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.(Ibid.10, 14).
What is quite surprising is that while sophisticated self-serving prattlers would influence the masses against the supernatural, the president of Curtis Engine Co. and consultor in the space program related the following:
"I think one of the most amazing things that God has for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, MD. They were checking the position of the sun, moon and planets out in space where they would be 100 years from now.
We have to know this so we don't send a satellite up and have it bump into something later in its orbit. We have to lay out the orbit in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be, so that the whole thing will not bog down. They ran the computer measurements back and forth over the centuries and it came to a halt.
THE COMPUTER HAD STOPPED and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong either in the information which had been read into the computer or with the result as compared to the standards!
They called in the service department to check it out and they said: "It's perfect." The IBM head of operations said "The trouble is, we have found a day missing in space in the elapsed time."
They scratched their heads and pulled their hair. There was no answer.
One of the more religious fellows on the team said: "You know, one time in Sunday School, they talked about the sun standing still."
They didn't believe him but they did not have any other answer. Sot, they said: "Show us."
He got his Bible and went back to Josue:
"Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hands; there shall not a man stand before thee."
Josue was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy and if darkness fell, they would overpower them. Josue asked the Lord to make the sun stand still. (Josue 10, 12-13)
That's right: the sun stood still, and the moon stayed _ "and the sun halted in the middle of the sky; not for a whole day did it resume its swift course".
Well, they checked the computers going back into time when that event happened and found it was close _ but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Josue's time was 23 hours and 20 minutes _ not a whole day." These little words in the Bible are important. But they were still in trouble because, if you can't account for 40 minutes, you will be in trouble 1000 years from now. Forty minutes had to be found; it can be multiplied many times over in orbit.
Their religious buddy again reached back in memory and recalled that somewhere in the Bible it said that the sun went backwards.
Again, they doubted his word, but they got down the Bible once more and, in II Kings 20 they found these words:
"In those days Ezechias was sick unto death; and Isaias the son of Amos the prophet came and said to him: Thus saith the Lord God: Give charge concerning thy house, for thou shalt die, and not live. And he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying: I beseech thee, O Lord, remember how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is pleasing before thee. And Ezechias wept with much weeping.
And before Isaias was gone out of the middle of the court, the word of the Lord came to him, saying: Go back, and tell Ezechias the captain of my people: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, and I have seen thy tears and behold I have healed thee; on the third day thou shalt go up to the temple of the Lord. And I will add to thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will protect this city for my own sake. And Isaias said: Bring me a lump of figs. And when they had brought it, and laid it upon his boil, he was healed. And Ezechias had said to Isaias: What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the temple of the Lord the third day?
And Isaias said to him: This shall be the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do the word which he hath spoken: Wilt thou that the shadow go forward ten lines, or that it go back so many degrees? And Ezechias said: It is an easy matter for the shadow to go forward ten lines; and I do not desire that this be done, but let it return back ten degrees. And Isaias the prophet called upon the Lord, and he brought the shadow ten degrees backwards by the lines, by which it had already gone down in the dial of Achaz."(Ed.note: This text is found in the Roman Catholic Bible in 4 Kings 20).
Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes1. The 23 hours and 20 minutes in Josue plus the 40 minutes in 4 Kings made the missing 24 hours in space. Space travelers now have an entry in the log book accounting for the missing day in the universe.
What is significant in this article is not only the objective information, but equally a lesson for those liberal "Catholics" who eagerly chime in with the bashers of the Church's insistence on the truth of divine revelation.
In connection with this historical event in the stolen history of the Catholic Church of the Old Testament, we have further confirmation of this possibility in the dancing of the sun at Fatima. One miracle confirms the other.
Perhaps a little well-grounded humility in those who hate us might convert them from their folly.
After all, which is easier for God to do: pardon our sins or make the sun stop for 24 hours? Of course, He can do both.
1 A circle _ and the earth _ has 360 degrees. The author of 4 Kings lived at a time when astronomers knew that 10 degrees was equal to 1/36th of either the earth's or the sun's daily revolution. 1/36th of a day equals 40 minutes.
